A travel blog, how original!
This past weekend I drove to Vancouver to catch an LCD Soundsystem concert with my husband. The show was of course fantastic, and they even happened to play the one track I was most hoping to hear (Tonite).
For not really archival reasons, I did my best to keep track of their setlist:
A couple of these are probably out of order, but it's fairly close. At the very least I think this is every song they played, regardless of the order.
We had actually already planned to be in Vancouver that weekend because of the new Tails of Summer furry convention. It was a great coincidence that the LCD Soundsystem concert happened to be a day before it started. Luckily, we were able to add a night to our hotel booking through the con, which made the trip way easier. I also have to compliment (as I did multiple times during the trip) the SkyTrain and city buses. It's actually amazing how convenient and easy the Vancouver transit system is.
Anyways, the convention was also a lot of fun. Still my favourite thing to do there is just wandering the halls seeing all the suiters. It's very comforting to be surrounded by likeminded people (furries).
This con was hosted at the Executive Hotel Vancouver Airport, which was different than (but hilariously close to) the hotel VancouFur is hosted at. This hotel has a nice Courtyard which is where most attendees hung out.
We spent plenty of time both in and out of our fursuits, and checked out the Dealer's Den and Artist Alley booths. I think we walked away with some pretty cool new house decorations and trinkets. Maybe soon I'll make a page for my "furry convention hauls" or something. Most of our time was spent just wandering the con and people watching, which is what I like most about furry cons.
On one of our days in Vancouver, we took a break from the convention and travelled downtown. We had some delicious hole-in-the-wall ramen, and checked out a few record shops. I happened to get to Beat Street Records just as they were setting up boxes of $1 records. It was a bit crazy digging through the boxes with everyone else, as the others seemed much more skilled at this than I. some walked away with entire boxes filled, whereas I got oly one - The Magic Christian soundtrack (not pictured). But I also walked away with a Ringo album and the '50s rock covers album Paul only issued in the USSR (pictured below). How it ended up in Canada, I don't know but I think that was a real score. And that's two more for my Beatles collection!
