To the left you can see my movie shelf. I tried to take the photo at an angle that shows the max amount of movies, but a few still got cut off by the shelves themselves.
Since, to my knowledge, there's no good equivalent to discogs for movies, I hope to one day make my collection browsable on this page, but that will take a lot more learning of HTML. I have an internal spreadsheet that tracks my collection, but I'd like something more visual for this site.
My movie collection starts in November 2020, when I moved out of my parents house. I took with me a handful of movies I had bought years prior (and have no record of), but that's when I suppose those movies truly became mine because they weren't just sitting on my parents' TV cabinet.
I've gotten the vast majority of my collection from thrift stores. On one hand, it's nice to utilize the second-hand market, but I also love the random aspect, I suppose. There's some specific movies I've ordered online, but for the most part I love finally stumbling across one I've been looking for for years.

As of 2026-07-09, I own 101 DVDs, 140 Blu-rays, 10 4K Blu-rays, and 2 VHS tapes.
There's some noticable moments in this timeline, such as April 2022, when my mom gave me a huge box of kids movies, which resulted in that obvious spike of DVDs.
Then, you can tel that from mid 2023 through to 2025, I barely added to my collection. During this time, I was living in a much smaller space and didn't have room for a movie shelf. I had to put my collection away in boxes in storage, and didn't have much energy to get more movies.
In September 2024, I dug out my movie box and pruned it significantly of stuff I knew I really was never going to watch again. Also because I wanted to reduce my collection to fit into one Rubbermaid tub.
However, throughout 2025 and 2026, my collection has once again been on display and has been steadily growing.
